Pre-op Meds: Ancef (25-30mg/kg) or Clindamycin
Anesthesia: General, midline oral RAE tube
Patient position: Supine, neck roll
Bed position: 90°
DVT ppx: NA induction of anesthesia
Side Table: None
Lights: Overhead lights AND headlight for surgeon
Power: None
Bovie Settings: 20-20
Preinjection: None
Prep: Betadine
Drapes: 4 towels around face + split sheet.
Instrument sets: Cleft palate tray with Dingman retractor
Anesthesia: Midline oral RAE tube
Patient position: Supine, neck roll
02 - Case Details
Special Instruments: #9 periosteal elevator and cleft palate set with extras
Devices/Implants: None
Hypodermic needles: 27 gauge needle
Syringes: 10 mL syringe
Drains: None
Suture: 4-0 chromatic RB – 1; 4-0 vicryl avaialable but not opened.
Anesthesia on field: 1% lidocaine 1/100 K epinephrine
Dressing: None
03 - Post-Op Information
Admission status: A.M. admission
Estimated time: 1.5 hr
Coding: ICD-9=749.00, 526.89; CPT=42200, 42235
Post-op wound care: No-nos x 3 weeks, liquid diet x 3 weeks
Post-op activity restrictions: Liquid diet for 3 wks, no nos for 2 wks
Follow up: 3 wks
