Skin and fatty tissue from the lower abdomen is used to reconstruct a breast, leaving the abdominal muscle intact.

Pre-op Meds: Ciprofloxacin

Anesthesia:  General

Patient position: Supine

Bed position: No turn

DVT ppx:  Compression boots on - working BEFORE induction of anesthesia

Side Table: N/A

Lights: Overhead only

Power: 2 Bovie Machines

Bovie Settings: 30/30 Protected tip

Preinjection: Tumescent

Prep:  Chloraprep

Drapes: Universal

Instrument sets:   Plastics major set, Micro major set, kovan doppler

03 - Post-Op Information

Admission status: 23 hr observation

Estimated time: 3 hrs

Coding:  19364

Post-op wound care:  Drains out AM prior to D/C

Post-op activity restrictions:  No heavy activity for 4 wks

Follow up:  1 wks

Post-Op Instructions obtain from MedConnect
