01 - Patient Setup
Pre-op Meds: Ancef or Clindamycin, Decadron
Anesthesia: General
Patient position: Supine
Bed position: 90°
Scleral shields with lube
Prep: Use Mayo stand drapes under head to prep entire head with betadine running into drape. Betadine ophthalmic soap to wash hair, rubber bands to braid hair anteriorly, staples hold hair down posteriorly.
Drape: 2 blue towels on half sheet. This goes under pt head. Top towel is to be brought around pt head and stapled so it is well behind ears. Then 4 towels around head, then split sheet. Split sheet is placed with mesentary around ETT TO AVOID TENTING AND RESTRICTING HEAD MOVEMENT.
DVT ppx: Compression boots on - working BEFORE induction of anesthesia
Side Table: None
Lights: Surgeons headlamp, fiber-optic light source
Power: No
Bovie Settings: 20/20 Colorado tip
Preinjection: 1% lidocaine, 1/100 day epinephrine, 30 mL
Instrument sets: Ask about endoscopic brow set, Storz endoscopic tower if endoscopic only

Special Instruments: Endoscopic brow set, facelift set
Devices/Implants: Stryker maxface fixation set and drill if endoscopic only
Hypodermic needles: 25 gauge
Syringes: 10 mL
Drains: None
Suture: 2-0 PDS, 4-0 monocryl, 4-0 chromic
Anesthesia on field: 1% lidocaine w/ 1/100 K epinephrine
Dressing: None
03 - Post-Op Information
Admission status: SDS
Estimated time: 90 min

Post-op wound care: Wash hair w/ shampoo from pharmacy. Topical antibiotic ointment to wound + wash hair in A.M. Mayo stand bag can be placed under ehad to collect wash or head board that funnels fluid to garbage.
Post-op activity restrictions: light activity for 2 wks
Follow up: 1 wk
