Also known as a fat transfer or fat injection, it is a surgical procedure where fat is transferred to different areas of the body to improve or augment the area of injection.

Pre-op Meds: Ancef or Clindamycin
Anesthesia: General
Patient position: Typically supine, rarely prone
Bed position: No turn
DVT ppx: Compression boots on - working BEFORE induction of anesthesia
Side Table: Fat processing table
Lights: Overhead light
Power: No
Bovie Settings: 20/20 Colorado tip
Preinjection: Tumescent donor site
Prep: Chloraprep all areas except face. Betadine for face.
Drapes: Split sheet w/ area to be harvested cut out and covered w/ towels, stapler.
Instrument sets: Soft tissue set

Special Instruments:
Small volume grafting: Tulip + Coleman cannulas for harvest/injection. Lots of Telfa gauze.
High volume grafting: Fat harvest graft processing system
Devices/Implants: N/A
Hypodermic needles: N/A
Syringes: 60cc Tulip syringes with Luer locks, 10cc (to store processed fat) and 1 cc syringes (to inject fat). Red caps for Luer lock syringes.
Drains: none
Suture: 5-0 monocryl RB-1, 5-0 fast gut P3, 6-0 prolene taper needle.
Anesthesia on field: 1% lidocaine 1-100 K epinephrine
Dressing: None
