Pre-op Meds: Decadron 10mg, Ancef, Cipro if PCN allergic

Anesthesia:  General, ETT or LMA

Patient position: Ask, depends on areas

Bed position: usually no turn

DVT ppx:  Compression boots on - working BEFORE induction of anesthesia

Side Table: None

Lights: Overhead OR lights

Power: None

Bovie Settings: 15/15

Preinjection: Tumescent (ask surgeons how many 1 litre bags)

Prep:  Chloraprep

Drapes:  Per sites to be suctioned

Instrument sets:  Liposuction set

Admission status: SDS

Estimated time: Per number sites

Coding: ___

Post-op wound care:  Grament/ Spanx 2 wks, shower in AM

Post-op activity restrictions:  Easy activity 2 wks

Follow up:  1 wk

 

02 - Case Details 

Special Instruments: Liposuction set, Power assisted liposuction machine

Devices/Implants: None

Hypodermic needles:  27 gauge

Syringes: 10 mL syringe

Drains: None

Suture: 5-0 monocryl + 5-0 gut

Anesthesia on field: 1% lidocaine 1/100 K epinephrine

Dressing:  Benzoin or mastisol, 0.5 inch steri strips
